Incorporating organic forms into fine jewellery requires a delicate touch to ensure the final piece remains elegant while staying true to its coastal origins.

The Design Process: We decided to cast the textures of the shoreline into the design, choosing platinum for its enduring strength and bright, silvery sheen. To elevate the piece to a true heirloom standard, Gillian and David explored my curated selection of gemstones. They were eventually captivated by a “D” colour pear-shaped diamond—the highest grade of colourlessness available—which echoed the fluid, droplet-like shape of the sea.

The Result: The finished ring is a masterclass in bespoke storytelling. The crisp brilliance of the pear-shaped diamond sits in perfect harmony with the platinum setting, creating a sophisticated piece that still whispers of that windy day on the beach.
