A Collection of Memories: Speaking with Vicky about each item was a wonderful experience. Every diamond and every link of gold carried a specific memory or a story of a loved one. From the formal elegance of her grandfather’s tie stud to the worn gold of family bands, these weren’t just materials; they were a legacy. Her wish was to unite these scattered pieces into one singular, spectacular ring.

The Design Process: The challenge was to harmonise various sizes of diamonds and different tones of gold into a balanced, wearable design. We decided to melt down the assorted gold—including the chunky watch chain—to create a substantial new band. I then carefully mapped out a layout for the diamonds that allowed each stone, regardless of its original setting, to shine brilliantly within the new composition.

The Finished Piece: The result is a stunning “power ring” that serves as a wearable family tree. By combining the gold and diamonds into one contemporary design, Vicky now has a daily reminder of her heritage wrapped around her finger. It is a bold, beautiful testament to her family, ensuring that those sentimental memories are never tucked away in a dark drawer again.
